Gospel music and African American spirituals filled the Rock Church of St. Louis, in Brentwood, on Saturday afternoon during a concert of the Community Gospel Choir. The 60-voice group is based at Kirkwood Baptist Church.

“Bringing together singers from all backgrounds, the Community Gospel Choir seeks to build bridges that restore unity to community,” according to its website.

The choir practices weekly and performs about six concerts a year. Saturday was the final concert of its ninth season. It is directed by Suzanne Palmer and accompanied by pianist Jody Clegg.
