Mark Twain Elementary School held its 15th annual student talent show on Friday night, Feb. 26. Billed as “Mark Twain’s Got Talent,” the production comprised 15 acts performed by 29 students in kindergarten through fifth grade.
There were vocal, piano, violin, ukulele and classical guitar solos. Five emcees provided between-act comedy. And there was a ton of dancing, from solo routines to a choreographed performance of four students on hover boards.
The music was everything from Bach and Beethoven to Les Miserables and Adele. While one student played a Star Wars medley on piano, two others fenced with light sabers. The big closer was a 10-student routine to “Party Rock Anthem” by LMFAO — which, according to the crowd’s reaction, might be America’s favorite song.
Organizing all 29 students was talent show chairperson Lisa Magee, with her husband Tom manning the spotlight.
