Pipefitter, P&Z member, 13-year resident challenges Leahy
John “Rocky” Ritter has announced he is a candidate for alderman in Brentwood’s Ward 3. He is running against the incumbent, Andy Leahy. The municipal election is April 5.
The following is based on information from the press release announcing Ritter’s candidacy.
Rocky is 43 years old and since 2003 has lived in Brentwood with his wife Michelle and his sons Henry, 11, and Ethan, 10. They were married at St. Mary Magdalen Catholic Church and are parishioners there. Henry is a sixth grader at Brentwood Middle School and Ethan is in fourth grade at McGrath Elementary. The Ritters live on Madge Avenue. They renovated their home, with Rocky doing much of the work himself, in 2005.
He is a pipefitter and a member of Plumbers & Pipefitters Local 562. He has worked for Rock Hill Mechanical Corp. since 1999.
Rocky is an active member of St. Mary Magdalen Parish. For the past six years, he has been a co-chairman of the God’s Cod Fish Fry team. On Fridays during Lent you will find him frying hundreds of pounds of the best cod in St. Louis!
He has also served as the co-chairman of the McGrath PTO Field Day committee since 2010. In addition, he has served on Brentwood’s Planning and Zoning Commission since 2015.
Rocky is running for Ward 3 alderman because he believes it is time for a change in Ward 3. He believes that code enforcement and the improvement of Manchester Road east of Brentwood Boulevard should be top priorities for the City and are particularly important to the citizens of Ward 3. He is also in favor of upgrading Brentwood’s parks, expanding the trail system, connecting our trails to the Great River Greenway and increasing accessibility to these public resources by enhancing our streets and sidewalks.
Rocky looks forward to meeting all the residents of Ward 3 and earning your vote on April 5. You can contact him by email at: rocky@rockyforalderman.org. His treasurer is Mary White.
