Whether you shop in Brentwood for groceries, clothes, antiques or even bundt cakes, it’s hard to ignore that Valentine’s Day is approaching. Here are some items that remind us Feb. 14 is right around the corner.
Here’s the flower cooler at Dierberg’s on Feb. 9. An employee said it will get really busy on Feb. 13. “Men tend to wait until the last moment,” she said. “We’ll probably get a lot of business on Feb. 14 as well.”

Yes, of course Nothing Bundt Cakes can make you a bundt cake for Valentine’s Day. The recently opened business is located across from Carl’s Drive-In, at 9040 Manchester Rd.
While some businesses are just starting to gear up for Feb. 14 this week, the employees at the Brentwood Public Library already had their Valentine’s Day books rounded up and displayed a couple of weeks ago.
At the clothing resale boutique Refresh, 1710 S. Brentwood Blvd., love seems to literally float in the air above mannequins as they look out at passing traffic.
You’d have to really love Valentine’s Day to wear a mini dress in this weather. But that’s Esther for you, the store mascot at The Refind Room, 2525 S. Brentwood Blvd. She dresses up for the holidays, St. Patrick’s Day, Halloween, whatever. No, she’s not for sale. How could they put a price on Esther?
