A Friday evening with mild weather, five food trucks, a live band and a clown attracted dozens of Brentwood residents to the Fall Food Festival on Sept. 25 in the parking lot of St. Mary Magdalen Catholic Church. Make that the first annual Fall Food Festival — the church’s Parish Council plans to do it again next year.
“We did this just as a community builder,” said Tina Hogan, the parish’s director of marketing. “It was a beautiful night to sit and enjoy the food and the fun family atmosphere.”
Hogan said it wasn’t hard getting food trucks to participate, adding that “We had to turn down several.” The vendors offered a variety of fare: Mexican from Hacienda Catering, barbecue from BJ’s Gullicious Backyard Q, hot salami from Gioia’s Deli, Asian from from MK’s Rolls and Wraps and dessert from Pie Oh My.
A clown created balloon hats and animals for children and a live band entertained the crowd.
The event began at 5 p.m. and lasted several hours.
