The Brentwood High School girls soccer team’s journey from last place to first place in its league is complete. The Eagles beat Hancock 5-0 last week to win the South Central AA Conference title outright, 12 months after finishing in last place.

The win over Hancock gave BHS a final 7-1 record in the South Central, one game ahead of Crossroads. It’s the first time the Eagles have won the league outright since 2012.

Brentwood closed out the regular season with a 1-0 loss to Hillsboro so they’ll head into this week’s district playoffs at Principia with a 10-4 record and having won five out of their past six games. Seeded No. 2, they will play No. 3 Maplewood Richmond Heights at 6 p.m. today. The winner will face the winner of today’s game between No. 1 Principia and No. 4 Valley Park.
