Dickey’s Barbecue Pit in Brentwood reopened today, 13 months after a man accidentally drove off the road and slammed into the front entrance of the business. The damage forced Dickey’s and Applegate’s Deli to close, as they shared the building, at 1912 S. Brentwood Boulevard. There were no injuries.

During the construction, the owner of Applegate’s Deli announced in 40 South News that he would replace the deli with an Einstein Bros. Bagels. That business will open at 6 a.m. on Monday, Feb. 2.

At noon today Dickey’s was full of customers while Einstein’s chairs were filled by about a dozen employees in training. The hours for Dickey’s are 11 a.m. to 9 p.m.
